Beijing, 5 March 2026 — Organised by Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions (RSE), the 2026 edition of Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients (PCHi) will take place in Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center, 18–20 March, marking the show’s debut in the city and signalling a deliberate shift toward deeper integration with China’s vibrant innovation landscape.
Within the Chinese market, the personal care and homecare industries are entering a period of sharper technical focus and strategic recalibration. Sustainability expectations are reshaping formulation priorities, biotechnology is accelerating ingredient innovation, and an increasingly defined regulatory framework is influencing claims, compliance, and time-to-market decisions.
PCHi 2026 convenes the industry at a point when sourcing strategies and R&D pipelines for the year are still being shaped. Hosted in Hangzhou, Zhejiang—a recognised digital economy hub and home to thriving high-tech clusters spanning biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and advanced manufacturing—the event reflects the intersection of science, technology, and commercial ambition that now defines the sector.
A Marketplace in Motion
Spanning more than 70,000 square metres, PCHi 2026 is expected to gather over 860 exhibitors from 26 countries and regions and welcome upwards of 50,000 professionals. The scale reflects sustained global interest in China’s ingredients landscape, where domestic innovation capacity is rising in parallel with international participation.
For ingredient suppliers, brands, manufacturers and regulatory specialists, PCHi 2026 offers the opportunity to experience innovation firsthand, benchmark formulation strategies, and engage directly with R&D and compliance experts. The exhibition’s positioning at the start of the industry calendar allows participants to align sourcing decisions and development pipelines with emerging regulatory and market signals.
As a long-standing industry platform in China, PCHi is widely regarded as a barometer of shifts within the country’s cosmetics ingredients sector — offering international participants insight into local dynamics, while providing domestic stakeholders access to global technologies and perspectives.
Innovation on Display, Insight in Context
Across the show floor, PCHi 2026 brings together a dynamic mix of technologies, and applied solutions, offering visitors more than a static display. Together, these features address a wide range of functions and industry needs, creating a comprehensive and engaging event experience.
One of the most anticipated highlights of PCHi 2026 is the Global Product Launches & China-Market Debuts, a flagship on-site initiative drawing participation from an expanded group of leading industry players. Global companies including Givaudan, BASF, Croda, Lucas Meyer Cosmetics by Clariant, Evonik, Lubrizol, and Ashland will be joined by leading Chinese innovators such as Shanghai Huiwen Biotech, Shanghai Keqin Biotechnology, and JAKA Biotech to unveil their latest ingredient technologies through coordinated launch ceremonies on the opening day of the exhibition.
By bringing these announcements into a shared industry moment, PCHi continues to strengthen its role as a recognised stage for new ingredient technologies entering the market. At a time when ingredient approval pathways and filing requirements are becoming increasingly defined, the initiative also gives formulators and sourcing specialists a clearer, more efficient way to identify and evaluate emerging materials.
Building on the momentum of new product announcements, the Fountain Awards continue to serve as a cornerstone of PCHi, recognising outstanding innovations that set benchmarks in ingredient functionality, formulation design, and applied science. The judging panel draws on expertise from industry associations, leading finished-product companies, academia and research institutions, together with members of PCHi’s Cosmetics Science & Technology Innovation Committee (CSTIC).
After a rigorous evaluation process assessing factors such as safety, technical merit and market potential, 56 products from 46 companies, and nine engineers have been shortlisted for the 2026 Awards. The finalist products will be presented in the Fountain Awards Showcase on the exhibition floor, where visitors can explore the technologies behind the nominations. Winners will be announced at the exclusive, by-invite-only Fountain Awards Ceremony on the evening of 18 March, held onsite at the exhibition.
Complementing the exhibition, the PCHi Annual Industry Conference and New Technology Sessions will comprise more than 200 sessions addressing regulatory updates, scientific research, market trends, and practical applications. The programme highlights the ways compliance and innovation combine to shape commercial strategy across the industry—offering attendees the opportunity to contextualise what they see on the show floor within broader policy and market developments. Conference sessions are complimentary with a visitor badge, and selected sessions will be supported with translation to facilitate international participation.
Additional features further round out the exhibition’s perspective on where formulation and product development are heading. These include the New Product Showcase, the Mintel-supported PCHi Innovation Zone translating consumer trends into finished product concepts, and a dedicated Sustainability Zone highlighting environmentally conscious ingredients and packaging approaches.
Turning Insight into Action
“PCHi has always reflected the pulse of China’s personal care and homecare sector,” said an RSE spokesperson. “With its first edition in Hangzhou, the 2026 show not only showcases the latest ingredients and products, but also highlights innovations emerging from a city at the forefront of biotech and high-tech development—helping attendees anticipate trends and make informed decisions for both the Chinese and global markets.”
