Rinse aids may be a small part of dishwashing, but they make a visible difference. By helping water spread and drain evenly, they reduce droplets, mineral spots and cloudiness while supporting faster drying. A More Sustainable Surfactant Platform
BioSpec RA is a concentrated blend of anionic and nonionic surfactants made from 100% naturally derived ingredients. Unlike many conventional rinse aid systems, it is alkoxylate-free and sulfate-free, tests below the 1 ppm detection limit for 1,4-dioxane, and is biodegradable under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions. Its approximately 45% solids content also reduces the water transported, stored and packaged.
High Performance at Low Use Levels
Testing demonstrates strong wetting with low filming. On glass, BioSpec RA at 1% solids matched the wetting performance of a petrochemical rinse aid at approximately 14% solids. On polyethylene, it performed comparably to the petrochemical benchmark at 5–15% solids. It can be used as a 4x automatic-dishwashing concentrate or as a flexible starting point for customised rinse aid and main-wash formulations.
One Blend, Multiple Applications
Beyond dishwashing, BioSpec RA has shown potential across home care. In acidic surface cleaners, it removes soap scum from bathroom tile within five minutes. In alkaline degreasers, it removes palm oil from plastic and baked corn oil from stainless steel, with performance comparable to efficient alkoxylate-based benchmarks. It also supports wetting, gloss and streak-free results in high-fragrance all-purpose cleaners.
In laundry liquids, BioSpec RA provides a 100% vegetable-derived concentrated detergent base that is EO-free, sulfate-free and 1,4-dioxane-free. Testing showed stronger cleaning than a vegetable-based benchmark, including at pH 3.5, with a clear advantage on polycotton.
