Inside the innovations setting the stage at in-cosmetics Asia 2026

29 OCTOBER, BANGKOK: A powder that transforms into a liquid serum, peptides designed to target damaged collagen and new technologies that improve the delivery of active ingredients are among the innovations set to be showcased at    in-cosmetics Asia 2026, organised by RX. Taking place at BITEC, Bangkok, 3-5 November 2026, the event will bring together suppliers exploring new approaches to barrier support, hair damage and sensory formulation.

More than 730 exhibitors, with a record high of 20% new exhibitors, from across the world, will present developments shaping the personal care industry. Asia Pacific will have a strong presence with 310 exhibitors from across the region, including 150 from China, 41 from Korea, 38 from India, 30 from Thailand, 29 from Japan, alongside companies from Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Saudi Arabia.

Expertise advances hair and botanical innovation

Hair protection is one area where suppliers are exploring new combinations of materials to improve performance. Japanese supplier SEIWA KASEI will showcase Protesil JLH, a hybrid polymer combining pea protein, silicone and alkyl groups. Designed to form a thin film on damaged hair, it helps protect colour, enhance shine and improve the appearance of healthier hair, without unwanted build-up.

From Korea, Luvama Biolab will highlight its portfolio of USDA Organic and COSMOS-certified botanical ingredients, including an organic liposome ingredient developed using Micro-Fluidizer technology. The ingredient is designed to improve the delivery of botanical components, pairing plant-derived ingredients with advanced formulation techniques.

Skin science gets more targeted

New actives are taking aim at specific skin concerns, from visible signs of stress to pigmentation and skin-barrier support. Thailand’s Malee Applied Sciences Co., Ltd. combines biotechnology with advanced encapsulation techniques to develop cosmeceutical and upcycled ingredients. Its technologies are designed to improve the stability and delivery of peptides, growth factors and botanical actives.

Germany’s BASF will present NeoHelix® Regenerate, a collagen-hybridising peptide-inspired ingredient designed to target damaged collagen fibres and support firmer, smoother-looking skin. Fellow German supplier CLR will highlight SkinCharge CLR™, developed to address visible signs associated with screen exposure and behavioural stressors, alongside study findings for CutiGuard CLR™, derived from red algae. The reported results indicate improvements in the appearance of pigmented spots, skin tone evenness and luminosity.

Cargill Beauty will showcase BotaniDesign™, a naturally derived emollient designed to support the skin barrier and provide long-lasting moisturisation. In a 28-day clinical study involving 30 Asian women with sensitive skin, a lotion containing 5% BotaniDesign™ helped calm discomfort and reduce visible redness.

Multisensory formats transform the beauty experience

Suppliers are also exploring how texture, finish and application can create distinctive product experiences. IMCD (Thailand) Co., Ltd. will showcase Magic Renew Powder Serum, a formulation that transforms on application from a powder into a liquid-like serum. It is designed to provide antioxidant protection, supporting a brighter-looking complexion and address visible signs of ageing.

Shin-Etsu Silicones (Thailand) Limited will present KSG-16-SF and KSG-19-PF, crosslinked silicone elastomer gels offering soft-focus effects and refined textures. KSG-16-SF delivers blurring performance for a smoother-looking finish, while KSG-19-PF provides a light, powdery texture and smooth feel. Both are positioned as alternatives to microplastic beads in personal care formulations.

Colour adds another dimension to sensory innovation and India’s B K Solutions and Specialities will showcase cosmetic pigments and dyes, including water- and oil-based dispersions, powder pigments and high-purity dyes designed to deliver vibrant, long-lasting colour.

Together, these developments demonstrate how ingredient suppliers are combining biotechnology, material science and sensory design to meet increasingly specific formulation needs. From Asian specialists in botanical ingredients and hair protection to targeted actives and transformative textures, in-cosmetics Asia 2026 will give formulators a broad view of emerging possibilities across personal care.

Sarah Gibson, Event Director of in-cosmetics Asia, said: “Across in-cosmetics Asia, we’re seeing ingredient developers rethink what personal care can achieve, from more targeted performance to entirely new textures and experiences. It’s an opportunity for the industry to discover what’s next, exchange ideas and shape the next generation of beauty products.”
